25 weeks

i went out and tried on official maternity clothes this week, feeling a bit like a whale, then i just i looked like one (as i do at only 20 weeks above)

i know the designers want to bring comfort and maybe camouflage to the wearer, but i didn't feel like i was representing myself in any way

 and in the end it felt like a way of ushering in this season of only buying what is comfortable or plain. by rejecting the prescribed notions of maternity aesthetics i hope to retain my personality and self through the adornment of my bump in something other than ruched outerwear
